Happy New Year! As we all know, the football is relentless around this time. We don’t want to miss out, but similarly we don’t want people having to remember their predictions every two days or so (or to be sending constant emails).
With that in mind, we’ve got this delightful ‘one and done’ tournament for you to enjoy. You’ll win some ranking points for winning this – not quite as many as normal but hey, not bad for a week’s work amid the mince pies.
The rules
..are simple – pick as many games as you need to from the Premier League and FA Cup Games in the list, but you’re trying to reach 24 goals in total (because it’s going to be 2024, you see..?).
No difference if you go over or under – guessing 25 goals is just as close to 24 as guessing 23.
The team that is closest wins; if there’s a tie we’ll give it to the one who guessed that number of goals with as few games as possible.
Bonus Tournament (Roughly one Christmas/New Year week long)
You’ll win some ranking points for winning this – not quite as many as normal but hey, not bad for a week’s work amid the mince pies.
Basically we take the normal points you’d win and give you two-thirds of that instead.
